Severe Rain Events

2017 has brought much welcomed precipitation to turn the tide on drought conditions.  While drought conditions are slowly improving throughout the State, the Los Angeles Region and particularly Sierra Madre should not expect a single year of high precipitation to entirely wipe-out the many effects of the prolonged condition.

Please view the information below and visit the links for helpful information to keep safe.

"Ready for 7" - The City has adopted the "Ready for 7" approach for disaster preparedness. This effort applies to many different types of disasters and hazardous situations. Please visit our Disaster Preparedness - "Ready for 7" page HERE.

Sandbags - The City provides sand and bags for residents to assist with rain preparations. Residents may pick up sandbags at Sierra Vista Park, 611 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., at a location north of the tennis courts.  Residents will need to fill and transport bags. For instructions for using sandbags, please click HERE.
