Allowable Business Types

In July of 2015, Sierra Madre updated its General Plan which includes an Implementation Program to update various ordinances, including the Commercial Zone and related zoning provisions. On November 10, 2020, Sierra Madre City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1431, codifying amendments to the Commercial Zone Ordinance and related zoning provisions.

Amendments to the Commercial Zone include a restructuring of the allowable business types, with reference to a separate document titled "Commercial Zone Uses", listing specific business types expanding upon the general categories tabled below.

"P" indicates that this type of business is permitted.

"CUP" indicates that this type of business would require a Conditional Use Permit. Please visit the Planning & Community Preservation Department Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. for assistance in applying for this permit.
