Edward Garcia was elected to the City Council in 2020. In 2015, Edward served as Chair of the Revenue Committee and was also a member of the UUT Oversight Committee for the City of Sierra Madre. In December 2021, Garcia was appointed as Mayor Pro Tem.
He has worked as a Forensic Economist for over 15 years, and testifies as an expert on issues of Economics, Finance, Valuation, and Statistics. In addition to working as an Economist, he also works as a part-time lecturer in the Finance, Real Estate, and Law department of the College of Business Administration at The California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Mr. Garcia earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Corporate Finance from The University of Southern California and a Master of Science Degree in Economics, Economic Analysis Option, in the Field of Money and Banking from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also holds the designation of Master Analyst in Financial Forensics® from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts®.
Edward and his wife, Amy, have three children that attend the public schools here in town. He and his family are active members of Christ Church Sierra Madre. He enjoys fly fishing in the Eastern Sierra and camping with his family.
