Robert Parkhurst was elected to the City Council in 2020. Prior to serving on the City Council, Councilmember Parkhurst served on the City’s Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Commission and was Vice-Chair of Clean Power Alliance’s Community Advisory Committee.

Robert, his wife, Jennifer, and their two children live in the C. J. Pegler house, built in 1913. 

Robert has spent more than 20 years working on environmental policies in the state of California. He led efforts to adopt many of the state’s landmark climate change laws. Prior to starting his own business, Robert worked for corporations and nonprofits helping them develop leading environmental programs. 

Robert is an Eagle Scout and continues to give back to the Scouting program through various local and regional roles. He is also a member of the National Ski Patrol supporting the safe enjoyment of the winter outdoors.

When not working or volunteering in the community, you can find Robert hiking, backpacking or skiing in the nearby mountains.
