Registration Information

MWTR RACE DAY – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2021

NOTE NEW MWTR RACE START TIME – 7:00 a.m.

NEW START TIME FOR KIDS’ FUN RUN – 7:15 a.m.

Race Starts and Ends – Kersting Court, Sierra Madre, CA

(corner of Sierra Madre Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue)

General Registration – Begins Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. @ The Hart Park House or Online

General MWTR Registration begins on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. Registration can be done in person at Sierra Madre’s Hart Park House, located in Memorial Park at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. or done online at:

People are strongly encouraged to sign up as soon as registration opens on Monday, August 16, 2021, as the MWTR is expected to sell out within the first few hours.

Cost to Register for the Mount Wilson Trail Race 2021

Adult (ages 18 and above) - $70

Youth (ages 14 – 17 only) - $39

All paid entries receive a t-shirt and goodie bag

Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check-made payable to the City of Sierra Madre, and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).

The total number of participants for the Mount Wilson Trail Race (MWTR) is limited to 350. Registration will be made available to Sierra Madre residents first and the remaining spaces are open to the general public for registration.

 MWTR Waitlist

In the event that you do not obtain one of the 350 MWTR registration spaces, your name will be added to the MWTR Waitlist. As spaces become available, persons on the Waitlist will be contacted in the order in which individuals were added. Although not guaranteed, each year there are cancellations.

Waitlisted runners are contacted up to three days prior to the MWTR.

Mount Wilson Trail Race – Kids’ Fun Run – Saturday, October 16, 2021 – Note New Start Time of 7:15 a.m.

 The MWTR Kids’ Fun Run (Ages 3 – 13) is on Saturday, October 16, 2021, and begins at approximately 7:15 a.m. (immediately following the start of the MWTR) in Kersting Court in Sierra Madre. The start of the Kids’ Fun Run is staggered, with children ages 8 – 13 beginning first and then followed by the children ages 3 – 7.

 Registration for the MWTR Kids’ Fun Run is FREE and can be done on the morning of the Kids’ Fun Run.

Kids’ Fun Run Course, Age Groups, and Distances

 Kids Fun Run participants ages 8 – 13 starts in Kersting Court, run up      Baldwin Avenue to Mira Monte Avenue, turn around and run back to Kersting Court. Total distance is 1.0 mile.

  1. Kids Fun Run participants ages 3 – 7 starts in Kersting Court, run up to Grandview Avenue, turn around and run back to Kersting Court. Parents of children ages 3 – 7 may choose to run with their child. Total distance is .6 mile. Refunds and Cancellations

A refund will be issued, less a $16 cancellation fee, in the form of credit to the patron’s account with the City of Sierra Madre. The credit will remain on the patron’s account for one year from the date issued and the credit may be used for any program or service offered by the City of Sierra Madre Community Services Department.

Notification of the cancellation must be made at least three (3) days before the day of the MWTR. However, if you know sooner, please notify us ASAP so that someone from the Waitlist can fill your spot. Refunds, in the form of credit, will not be issued unless the Community Services Department is able to fill your spot from the Waitlist.

 Cancellation Due to Injury/Medical Reason

In the event of an injury or medical related concern, a full refund will be issued, provided a doctor’s note is provided to the Manager of the Community Services Department. The refund will be in the form of a credit to the patron’s account with the City of Sierra Madre, good for one year from the date of cancellation, or a refund by check upon the submission of a written request

to the Manager of the Department. The written request must be made within ten (10) working days of the event which the patron could not attend for medical reasons.
