The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is the central coordination location used to manage a disaster or large scale emergency. When a disaster strikes, pre-identified personnel respond to the EOC. These personnel will conduct their disaster response protocol under the guidelines of California's Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the Federal National Incident Management System (NIMS). Both systems work under three concepts:
-
Having a consistent organizational structure
-
Identifying and allocating resources
-
Following emergency management practices
Current EOC Status
The City of Sierra Madre's EOC is currently not active, but personnel are on-call and ready to respond if an event occurs.
