The Sierra Madre Historical Archives

On May 27, 1999, the Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society and the Sierra Madre Public Library entered into an agreement whereby the archival collection became jointly owned by both institutions.  The Sierra Madre Historical Archives consists of documents, photographs, slides, maps, sound recordings, oral histories, moving images, scrapbooks, ledgers, news clippings, books, works of art, and ephemera that tell the story of Sierra Madre and the nearby San Gabriel Mountains. A selection of digitized photos is accessible via the Library Catalog, on Flickr and in Worldcat.

Donations

Offers to the Sierra Madre Historical Archives are welcomed. Staff review all donations to ensure the material conforms to the selection criteria in the Library’s Collection Development Policy.
